Welcome aboard Alun!
2 Minute ReadI am delighted that my first blog post of 2020 is to welcome Dr Alun Jones to Addresscloud as our Chief Commercial Officer. Alun has over 25 years experience in the geospatial industry and has spent more than a decade working with insurers to help them with their data requirements. Alun was previously the Director of UK Underwriting Products at Verisk, Past Chairman of the Association for Geographic Information and before that the co-founder and Sales Director at The GeoInformation Group which he built from the ground-up.
Alun brings with him a huge range of skills including product development, marketing, sales and business development. He holds a PhD in Satellite Imaging and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. Alun will work closely with myself and our CTO Dr Tomas Holderness to help achieve our ambitions of growing Addresscloud into a global platform for location intelligence. His deep insurance knowledge and understanding of complex data challenges will be an invaluable asset for both Addresscloud and our customers.
We are very excited about what 2020 will bring, we have already seen a very busy start to the year and are working with a number of new customers to understand their requirements and how Addresscloud can help. We completed our first version of the Addresscloud residential property dataset in Q4 of 2019 which provides detailed attributes on circa 30m addresses. We are hard at work on extending this to commercial locations and plan to have this work complete in Q1. Q2 will see the first version of our new Addresscloud Portfolio application for accumulation management and post-event analysis and the early previews have already got some of our existing customers excited!
I have known Alun for many years and he has always been hugely supportive of Addresscloud. I look forward to working closely with him to serve our ever-growing customer base. Welcome aboard Alun!
